Looking for a little advice here. We're about a week and a half away from our first PCO treatment in our apartment. We have three scheduled visits (each a week apart).

We just (safely and responsibly) disposed of our big couch, which we were planning to do even before the bedbug discovery. It was uncomfortable and considering we would get bites after sitting there for a while, we're pretty sure there were a whole lot located there.

We want to get two new recliners, but I'm wondering if we should do that after all the treatments or done, or in between. Logic would dictate that we should wait until the apartment is bedbug free before bringing new furniture inside, but I guess I'm wondering if it's more protective to have it in there during the second and third treatment, this way the PCO can treat the couch so it has some of the bedbug killer on it to prevent future infestations.

Does this make sense, or are we overthinking it and should just wait til this is over and reward ourselves with recliners that have cup holders?

    Hi,

Three times 1 week apart seems a little too close and not in keeping with current thought on the matter. I would have a look at the FAQs and space things slightly further apart.

With regards the furniture my rule is "deal with the bed bugs and when they are gone do what you want". This means all furniture remains and thus we avoid infesting new items if the source of the issue is not dealt with.

There is also little anyone can do to "treat to prevent", prevention is all about personal steps taken to prevent reintroduction while outside the home.

    Hope that helps.
