    This is the lone bed bug I found in the climb up intercepter after all of our treatment efforts. Any idea how long it has been alive? It didn't look like it had fed, just a tiny dark spot in the back. (Sorry for the poor quality -- from my phone)

    I thought I've seen this picture before. It's a nymph, not a first instar. Not recently fed, that is, not within a few days anyway.

    Professional entomologist/arachnologist. I consult on all matters dealing with insects and arachnids, including those of natural history and biology to pest management and forensic entomology investigations.

    Thanks! Yes, I put the penny next to it for reference and recall seeing a picture like that somewhere!
