About 2 months ago, I started getting random bites, like one bite in every few weeks and it appeared at any time of the day (starting with itching and then a big red, irritated bump on skin). The bumps mostly appeared on arms or near neck. My husband also started getting them soon after. At first, it seemed to be related to couch. We vaccuumed all our couches and the only thing we found was the bug in the image above. this was on the sofa of our living room which we barely used. Didnt find anything on our family room sofa.

Few days ago, we got bite marks first thing in the morning. We didnt find anything in the bed. We cleaned everything and one week later, the bites appeared again,

We have not been able to trace anything - no blood on sheet, nothing crawling, and even the bug in the pic seemed dead.

I am not even sure if that bug is even the culprit..

Any idea what it could be?

I’m not an expert, just sufferer who has caught a few, but that doesn’t look like a bed bug to me.

That would be my number one guess, but I don't like to guess. Lou could give you a definite answer.

Not a carpet beetle. It's only part of a beetle (rear section).
