I've just moved into a new apartment a few days ago. It's a competitive housing market here so when we toured we mostly noticed how bright and airy the apartment felt (it has 13 windows) and didn't properly inspect to notice just how dirty it is. Anyway, I've been cleaning for the last 3 days and found several wall stains. I didn't think to take pictures sooner so linked are a gallery of what's left after a few days cleaning. Do I have bed bugs?

Those are not bed bug stains. Bed bugs leave groups of small black dots, shell casings, or blood.

While it’s correct they are too pale in pigment and colour to be bedbug faecal it’s also correct that bedbugs leave:

    • cast skins
    • faecal traces
    • live samples

They never “leave” blood because they are not capable of depositing it as they can’t vomit.

    Hope that helps.
