For starters: I know it's debatable whether such a smell exists.

I've lived in my 500 sq ft studio for 15 years. And have had many bouts of fruit fly appearances. They have always been self-contained in the kitchen - since that's where the most attractive scents are likely to be. (After I purchased produce or herbs like Italian parsley etc.) I have not recently purchased anything in my kitchen that ordinarily would attract fruit flies.

However, in the past two weeks roughly, there are been fruit flies circling and hanging out around my bed area. This has NEVER happened in the past. Ever. Coriander & vinegar is often used as a bait scent for homemade traps. Wondering if this is a sign of potential bed bug harborage. Thoughts?

Again, I have a canine inspection in a few days. And will let folks know the results of that. And if this theory bears 'fruit' as it were. (Apologies on the tired pun. I'm just really tired of this in general. And fear it's not even begun in earnest.)

    Thanks.

I don't know if they're connected in anyway, but I do know we have had more fruit flies this year than ever before- to the point that I need to put cling wrap over my drinks.
