The goal of this event is to bring attention to the national bedbug epidemic, an ever-growing crisis that society and government must address. Funding via scientific research is urgently needed to find an effective, long-term solution. A stronger social safety network should be available to individuals going through this trauma as well as ongoing nation-wide educational programs, destigmatization, and far-reaching preventative practices.

The Federal, Provincial, and Municipal government, The Pesticide Management Regulatory Agency, and Entomology Research Departments across the country to take immediate action on the bedbug file. The cost is of continuing to ignore this problem is going to be unimaginably high.

Unfortunately, I don't think any of the current academic research is going to provide any breakthroughs in the near future. But your effort can help in some ways.

A six-year struggle with bedbugs? Wow, that's insane.

Jim: I had this idea for some time that advanced nano-robots will one day help us get rid of the mosquitoes and cockroaches that disturb our human areas. Now that I've recently been plagued with a dust mite allergy and that one bedbug I've discovered, those two species will also be perfect targets for our guardian nano-bots. It's only a matter of a few decades before our lives will be radically bettered by those inventions. Mark my words!
