Sad story, something is biting me in the night. I've been checking my mattress religiously but haven't found anything so far. I also have glue traps out, but they've only caught mosquitoes. So far the bites have only been singular (rather than in a line). Last night I woke up to find streaks on my pillow. They're definitely liquid, since they bled through the fabric:

I pulled up the top sheet and found a stain on my mattress that wasn't there two days ago:

I also have a pretty painful welt on my arm:

Thanks! Any ideas about bugs that might cause stains in streaks?

    Hi,

Those stains are not organic, they are caused by something rubbing / perishing as seen by the transfer density which is greater on the raised parts of the weave.

The two things are not related.

    Hope that helps untangle.
