    Hi,

the links to the photos are below. Please note I am Canadian and the coin is a nickel which is twice the diameter, more or less, of a penny. I also took some with a bottle cap for size reference. Photos are as good as I can get them on the iPod Touch camera I am working with. Sorry if it's no good.

    The case for:

    - my landlord just informed that the person in the unit across from me just found a BB in their bed. An exterminator came to the unit and said he couldn't find the source. He is coming back on Monday to treat the offending unit, and then do preventative stuff in all the other units.

    - I became paranoid after learning the above and tore my apartment apart. The only evidence is a few stains that I feel like have been on my sheets for awhile now. Like, months potentially. No obvious serious accumulation is evident but of course now I can't be sure.

    - I've washed my sheets a few times and noted that the stains didn't come out. Mind you, I never do anything to actually try and get them out. Just cold water wash with a bit of detergent.

    The case against:

-I've been bitten by bed bugs before while travelling abroad in Russia, Serbia, and Nepal. All years ago. I swell up immediately. It's very obvious when I've been bitten. I know what they look like, and when I have been bitten, there were stains all over the bed.

    - As mentioned above, I just always have stains in my sheet. I eat in it, write notes with a pen in it, and pick scabs sometimes.

    - I can't find BB evidence in my bed or sofa, including inside the mattress and sofa that unzips to reveal their insides.

    - No smell, exoskeletons, bite marks, and my bed is not located on a wall adjacent to the source unit. Unless I'm somehow the source unit. Even then, the one joining wall seems attach to their living room only.

These photos are several of the 3 stains I could find. The first is the largest one. The other two barely bigger than pin-prick sized. There's a rust-coloured stain after the first black one in the series that is similarly-sized to the first dark stain. I feel less suspicious about this one because of my tendency to pick scabs and sleep shirtless with slight back acne exposed. It's also the only blood-coloured stain on the entire bed and I think it's been there for months.

Why is my post not visible?

These are a series of photos I took with an iPod Touch, so the quality can't really be improved upon. There's three black stains, the first is the largest, the other two barely bigger than a pinprick. I used a bottle cap and a nickel (Canadian) as a scale. A nickel is maybe twice the diameter of a penny. There's also one rust-coloured stain that I am less suspicious of because I always pick scabs and I often sleep shirtless anyways. These have been there for months I believe. No obvious accumulation going on. However, neighbor just informed my landlord she found a bed bug in her bed so now I am paranoid.
