    I know what this is. If it really is this is the 3rd time. I haven't seen anything since late August. It was hard to smash, but there was blood.

    Correct, not a bed bug. A species of Pediculus, so head or body louse.

    Professional entomologist/arachnologist. I consult on all matters dealing with insects and arachnids, including those of natural history and biology to pest management and forensic entomology investigations.
