    Hi Everyone,

I am super scared of bugs in general. I have barely gotten any sleep this week because Sunday night I was going through my bed because I was recently woke up and noticed that a spider bite on my arm. Also in that same few days I go two bites on my hand but I couldn't see any insertion points. However my hand was really swollen and itched like crazy. I live in Los Angeles and its been raining on and off so I assumed it was a mosquito. However, I got super paranoid after sitting at my dining room table and getting bit both on my arm and my thigh (same side) that maybe there was a bigger problem. So I went to my bedroom and checked the mattress, its zippers, my box spring, and frame. I couldn't find any evidence of droppings, blood, or anything until I looked even more closely at my bed skirt. In one corner was about 10-15 black dots all separated in the corner of the pleat. Some of it was lint and some of it was almost perfectly spherical black stuff. It was hard about the size of a poppy seed. I didn't see any smudging but on the white part of my bed skirt near the pleat I saw a single TINY black smudge. Although it could have been nothing, I freaked out, bagged it up, and threw it in for a hot run in the washer. After a few runs I threw it away because I felt my skin crawl when I looked at it.

Then I started to clean all around the baseboards and close to the head of my bed I found something really hard that looks like the first picture. Sorry I don't have a better picture. I really did try. Can someone tell me if this looks like a BB? or BB related. I also found this little light reddish brown smudge on the fabric of the box spring cover. Please someone help. I've been obsessing and haven't slept in my bed all week.

I even put baby oil in a bowl under the bed posts and sprayed around my room and the bed/box spring/frame with alcohol but no bugs have fallen in... It feels like something is crawling all over me, even my face but when I look there is nothing there. Before these bites, every once and a while I would have one or two here and there, never in clusters except the two on my hand that I mentioned.

please help. I know my pics arent that clear but that's as good as my iphone 6 will take

    Hi,

No it's not a bed bug. If you search the forum for headless ladybugs you will find a lot of similar images.

    Hope that helps.

It's OK after many years I know how much even a short confirmation means to those in the peak of anxiety. Hopefully this scare will get better informed so it's not so rough a ride next time.
