    Hi everyone,

I found this dead bug on my couch earlier this evening, and I am a worried that it could be a bedbug. It was dead and squished when I found it like this, so I'm sorry if it is hard to ID in any way.

    Here are the photos:

    Thanks for any help!

Both images seem to be of the crittur belly-up - any chance you could add a picture of it right-side up as well? That would be most helpful if possible.

Thia is not a bed bug. Can't tell you what it is exactly based upon that photo but, the head is the wrong shape to be a bed bug.

    Hope this helps ! pb

Thanks Mr. Bello, that is such a relief to hear.

I am curious as to what it actually is though, and have an idea. I found a carpet beetle larvae crawling on the wall next to my couch, and noticed that it is the right size, color, and roughly the right shape to match up to what I found.

Is it possible that this is a dead beetle larvae? The only issue is the lack of hair on what I found, but it was under a couch cushion, could that just have rubbed off over time?

Again, thank you, and my heartfelt condolences for the passing of your father.

Compare your girl (or guy) with the pictures in this thread. That critter was ID-ed as an "odd beetle" (female, BTW).

(I'm not expert enough to give an ID on this one.)

Those do look really close, thanks for pointing that out.

I am going to keep an eye out for anything, but I flipped the couch this morning and looked around as much as possible, and didn't see any bugs or anything that looked like the pictures of fecal matter I have seen.

    I am much relieved.
