    Hello,
Our neighbors who live in a separate house have confirmed presence of bed bugs in one of the bedrooms. Their young son has visited our house several times in the last few weeks and played with my son in various of our rooms, including in my son's bed (where my son plays but does not actually sleep). The friend sleeps in a bedroom with two others and they have no evidence of bugs in that room, no bites, nothing on the mattress.

Out of concern that he might have brought eggs or a nymph into the house, or that a bug from the other room got onto his clothes and into our house, I washed and dried all the linens, couch covers, and rugs in our home. When I took out the sheets from my son's bedroom, I found this bug casing. I realize there is no head or legs but could they have come off in the wash?

I posted two photos on this blog created just for this purpose - you need to click on the "keep reading" to see the two photos of the casing, which is in a plastic bag and photographed next to a quarter for size reference. The photos are slightly blurry but you should be able to click on them and then they are clear.

Thanks so much for your help.
