Someone in my house was exposed to bed bugs about 2 months ago while sleeping over a friends house. We took precautions to help prevent them from spreading and no one in the house had any bites.

About a week ago, I found a dead bug in my bed that looked similar to a bed bug. We got an exterminator and he was unable to ID the bug. He inspected our rooms and didn’t find any signs of an infestation. He also set up the volcano activ traps to be safe.

I thought we were good, but today while changing my mattress cover I found another two pieces of bugs that highly resemble a bed bug. It looks exactly like images I have found online. No one in my room has had any bites, but I understand that not everyone reacts to them.

Please let me know what you think. Thanks in advance!

Also, I should mention that we have a carpet beetle problem ( confirmed by exterminator). Is it possible that this could be one of them?

I'm not a professional, so identifying anything from parts is pretty difficult, but there's nothing in these pictures that would make me think they're definitely NOT bedbugs. They don't look like carpet beetles I've seen. If the pest control guy couldn't tell you what kind of bug it is, you need a new company, or at the very least a different person. (if it's the only company available to you) He should be able to identify any bug in your home. If you bring these to another pest control company and they tell you it IS bedbugs, get your money back from the first guy. Seems pretty silly that you'd have to pay a guy for an inspection when he can't even tell you what he's seeing.

Please don't guess, if you're not sure don't ID something.

That's correct. One image looks like silverfish parts.

Thank you for your responses! I appreciate you all taking the time to look at the images and for sharing your knowledge. I had myself convinced that at least one of them was a bed bug. We’ll jut continue with monitoring for now.

May I ask, even the second photo with the bug parts on the sticker , you do not feel that they could be bed bug related ? Just wanted to be sure you were able to see both photos.

If these were, one of us would have said so.

Ok, thank you. I apologize. I’d say it’s time for me to stop obsessing over this!
