I have been finding little spots that are red with a white center on my face neck and arms for around 7 months now as there are itchy and they swell bigger when i scratch them. I have inspected every where and i couldn't find anything apart from a book lice that the PCO confirmed it was. i also had a PCO to come out from my local council and they couldn't find anything also nothing was on the traps that they layed that was put down for 1 month. My baby woke up 2 weeks ago with 2 bites on her face and when i checked her bedding that i'd put on clean 2 days before there was 3 small blood marks at the top of the cover. My other little girl has woke this morning with 2 identicial bites on her face but still when i look there is no sign of any bugs. I have contacted Rentokill who are going to ring me back but PLEASE would someone be able to look at the photos PLEASE. I would be Very Grateful. SORRY for the long post i was just trying to give as much details as possible THANKYOU .

    Hi,

Sorry to say but its simply not possible to diagnose based on bites and skin reactions.

You need to look at the FAQ's and check the area for:

    • Live samples
    • Cast skins
    • Faecal traces

Its only through finding these physical signs can it be confirmed as bedbugs.

    Dear elliemayxxx,
I don't know for sure if my bites I've been experiencing are bed bug bites yet but I am so certain now after feeling them now for over 6 months on and off and reading all the information my mind can take in that I probably do have bed bug bites. I can tell you that my bites are the opposite of what you explained of yours. mine are a tiny red dot in the center (like a blood dot) and then it is surrounded by a welted bump of white or sometimes red( if I've scratched at it). best advice I can tell you is figure it out now! Don't wait like I have because I couldn't find any evidence. It only gets worse, and I don't mean the infestation, I mean the whole mental capacity of NOT KNOWING! It really sucks. I'm having a dog come in because even after all these months I still, after searching finatically all the time, can not find any signs visually. except of course bites that everyone tells me are nothing! Spend the money on a dog and do it now, it's cheaper than treating something that you don't know yet is there or not, and it's a good way to have peace of mind, no matter which way it turns out.

    Good luck!
