    Hi all,

So my story starts here: http://bedbugger.com/forum/topic/could-use-help-with-figuring-out-bedbug-problem

Basically, last Sunday (9/6) I went to bed with five bites on my legs--three on one leg and two on another, all in line with how I sleep. I also had bought a sleeper couch from a Habitat for Humanity story a month prior, so I obviously immediately thought bedbugs. In fact, I woke up Monday and smeared something that looked like a flax seed and produced this stain:

Then, I examined my bed and my couch--all I found were these stains:

and shed skins of carpet beetles (confirmed here and by two PCOs)

and two or three things that looked like booklice--loubugs and another user on the site confirmed.

SO. I called two PCOs out--Prodigy and Green Pest. Both were super nice. Both did free visual inspections. Both looked with flashlights under my couch, in my couch, behind my couch, the baseboards, and my mattress and boxspring. I live in a studio apartment that's super tiny, so those seemed the most obvious places to look. Both said they saw no evidence. This was a week ago, remember.

Since then, I haven't had any new bites until yesterday--Sunday. Four new bites, one on each thigh, and one on my shoulder, one on my back. I had sat on my couch for the first time since last Sunday, because my mom came over and made me--exposure therapy to take away my anxiety, she thought. HAH.

So now, I'm having Super Sniff come with a dog tmrw. Kelly apparently does follow up with visual inspection. But my question here is, are there any people near Philly who recommend companies who do super super thorough visual inspections? And when should I call them in--is it too early?

Can I hire some amazing people on the board here--KillerQueen, New York isn't too far is it? Lol.

Sorry, just would love advice. Am going a little nuts in this waiting game.

PCOs have to be licensed in a state which is why -- along with the distance-- you aren't going to get Killer Queen to come.

There are reviews of Philadelphia PCOs here.

I started and run the site but am "not an expert."

Thanks Nobugsonme! I figured as much but thank you for the verification

I've got Kelly from Super Sniff coming tmrw but her response to my questions on monitors (don't need 'em, they don't really help, the bugs avoid em, etc) didn't super duper give me confidence. So, idk.

A lot of pros have their biases.

Some monitors work well. Some don't work well.

Some bed bug dogs do a good job. Some don't. (That's partly why visual confirmation on dog alerts is key.)

Some heat treatment providers do a great job. Some don't.

Some spray-and-dust PCOs get them in one most of the time. Many never even try.

I would take pronouncements about methods an individual pro does not use with a big heap of salt, unless perhaps I had been watching them and their opinions for a long time.

Look for trends, though (for example, no pros here say monitors don't work, but some pros here like certain monitors. There are also some NONE of them seem to like...)
