    I really liked it.

The other side of the single-with-bed-bugs coin is being in a relationship and having the other person not react to bites and not get the severity of the problem. The grass is always greener, I guess!

I started and run the site but am "not an expert."

The metaphor of her father giving her the best part of the crab, as an example of mourning "unconditional love" was very, very touching.

Thanks for sharing this article, and thanks to the author. So glad to identify with someone. This is a very isolating plaque, and the loneliness has been the worst part of the past 4 months.

It hit me as being more about love and connections than about BB per se. That by being the "brave, independent single person in the city" means that you may want for genuine love when you're in trouble. We could create a volume of "Love in the time of bed bugs" essays, with ones like this: http://bedbugger.com/forum/topic/online-dating-and-bedbugs?replies=7#post-44203

I thought this sentence, from the last paragraph, is very important:

It’s important to put things in perspective. In a world plagued by political atrocities, environmental disasters and fatal incurable diseases, bedbugs aren’t really that big a deal.

With Thanksgiving coming up, let's try hard to think about the good things in our lives. It's easy to forget about those things in the middle of our battles.
