I am sure we found a bedbug. What is the next step?

Yes, bed bug or close relative. You may want to call in a PCO for a complete inspection.

I called and the landlord is sending a pest control company on Monday.

I currently have this guy stored in two Ziploc bags inside of a jar. Anyone know if it is possible for it to escape. Am I nuts for keeping it alive?

None of the bedbugs I Ziplock'd ever managed to unzip the bag and escape. I think you're good!

Not a pro here. Call me Jon Snow...... for I know nothing, except what I've experienced.
