    Difficult to evaluate because image is so small and indistinct. Can you take one or more additional photos much closer up and post? Can you include a penny and a euro 1-cent piece in the image for size comparison? And can you flip him over so we can see what his legs etc. look like? From this image I think people might guess it's one or another type of beetle, maybe one of the very common stored-product pest varieties.

    Thanks Spideyjg and Effeci. I tried to flip it over but with no success. it was in a drop of water. now i have it taped to paper.

    Would this tick hurt my cats? where would it come from?
