Hello! I had bed bugs over the summer. Just now on my bed, I found what appears to be a skin of a bug. It looks sort of old but I can't really tell. The head appears to be missing. I have no idea if it is a bed bug, but I would love to have some peace of mind. Thanks for any help!

Here's a bunch of photos I took just now:

Not sure about that. Experts will likely be able to help tomorrow.

I started and run the site but am "not an expert."

    Hi,

    100% not bedbug related.

You may have to wait for Lou to be awake though.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi,

No its not carpet beetle related.

Please don't take this the wrong way but my "thought" is that you should not offer an ID opinion unless you are certain as to what it either is or is not.

I could have made a few guesses when I replied but its 100% not carpet beetle.

Not carpet beetle although the other insect pictures on the flickr photostream is. Not sure. It's only part of an arthropod. The segments are flared out laterally. Looks like it could be a shed skin. Not sure if cockroach or something else. No more parts?

    Hi Lou,
When you say it could be a cast skin, you don't mean it could be a bed bug cast skin, do you? Just want to make sure.

No, not a bed bug cast skin. It looks like a cockroach shed skin (as was pointed out by Mellisa) and it's not an entire shed skin, only a piece, but I wish there was a ventral view. The images are also not 100% crisp when looking at a high resolution version.
