Image isn't crisp, but its overall shape and morphology leads me to believe that it's a shiny spider beetle, Gibbium aequinoctiale.

If it helps, the shape of the body was flat, and the legs came from underneath and it stood upright. It looked like a tiny table.

Still a guess. Could be a small weevil. Difficult to see body parts in those photos. Comes down to a good picture is easier to arrive at a good ID.

Do you think that it's possible or likely that this is a bedbug?

Not a bed bug. Too bad you couldn't take a picture of it but not on the towel.

What about it or what features make it not look like a bedbug?

It doesn't look like a bed bug. You will see these features if you could place it on a contrasting background. The towel structure and color doesn't let you see it properly. The towel is crisp, the insect isn't. And make sure you have the camera/phone set to largest picture size and highest resolution if you are able to take more pictures.

These are the only pictures I have, I got rid of the bug and haven't found another one. Is it the wrong color? The wrong body shape, legs, or size? If this was a bed bug, how would it be different from the pictures?

You have to compare your pictures to pictures of bed bugs. "wrong body shape, legs, "
