While packing up to move found this bug near the edge of a rug. Have checked everywhere in apartment and see no other signs of this type of bug. Any help would be great. Scheduled to move saturday so would like to know how to plan.

    THANKS!

Elaborating on EffeCi's identification of that as indeed a bed bug: to my non-expert eye it appears to be an adult although I wouldn't be able to hazard a guess whether a male or a female. Naturally what you most don't want it to be is a female, in particular one that's laying eggs. Perhaps EffeCi, or some other experts, will have more to say.

Did you observe whether the bb was roundish i.e. having recently fed, or was it quite flat i.e. hungry.

The photo is reasonably good; however, it lacks one desirable component which would be a coin or ruler for size comparison.

a non-expert eye (but I hope PCO or entomologist can confirm if my ID skills are getting better). Appears to be adult female. My understanding is that the adult male is less rounded than female.
