I was so ready to get back on here and report my suspected bed bug case was over ... until returning from a vacation a few weeks ago. Approximately 1-2 weeks later several people in my household have had suspicious welts and bites. I'm trying VERY hard to not jump to conclusions (mosquitoes are out this time of year, after all). I have climb-ups installed on every bed leg post from the last ordeal. Should I feel relatively safe that these would prevent any hitchhikers we may have brought home from attacking us in bed?

No actual signs is good news; don't go down that path without actual confirming evidence, no live samples is a good thing.
