I stayed in a hotel slept there one night, friends came next night an saw live bed bug in their room, my suitcase was on floor an robe fell on floor during the night in my room since i got home have kept suitcase outside an washed an dried clothes in hot water an dried in dryer. Do I need to bag them or can I put them away in closet an if I have to bag how long how about my shoes? I am freaking out as I'm a huge clean freak an I got the creeps. An there was possible evidence in my bed that room had bugs either present or past

I'll bump up the thread for new people.

Keep the shoes and nonclothing in plastic.

If you travel a lot I would consider passive monitors and a packtite.

OT means off topic so don't bother with those threads or the fungus ones.

I will have to find it later, but the experts say bugs are in about one in twenty rooms.

The best thing now is to read the faqs and then come back and ask questions.

I don't know how thick your clothes are, the temperature of your dryer etc but it should work. Did you have a coat...did you put it in?

If you are in a big city in the Us you may be able to rent a packtite.

Pillows are thick so it might be best to bag it.

    Is the suitcase bagged?

If thete was evidence the room had been treated and you didn't see bugs..you might be ok.

Suitcase on floor is not a good idea.

Google pcos in your area and see if any rent packtites. It is more common on the coasts.

Please read the faqs and green stickies.knowledge is power. I had a scare two years ago and it is fine. I learned how best to protect myself.
