Hey all... We need help/advice. My parents place is infested pretty bad. Virtually every room of the house has signs of the little buggers. Mom found bugs in the microwave... I just found em in the upper back corner of the shower... At least 3 of the 4 bedrooms are confirmed. It's about a 2000 sq ft. home with an attached garage (about another 600 sq ft.) and was built about 40 years ago. Bugs have been here at least 6 months, probably more... Hard to say.

Anyway, first place we called recommended heat treatment stating that it's the only way to truly get rid of them to the tune of somewhere around $4k. Then the next place we called said the exact opposite... Heat treatment doesn't work, it just makes them run and hide and that we should go with pesticide treatment at somewhere around $2k.

So which is the way to go? We don't care about the price difference... Just want to make the right decision that gives us the highest chance of success.

    Bonus question...

What's the best way to go about cleaning bed bugs out of electronics?? Laptops, computers, monitors, keyboards etc.

    Thanks all!

    Microwave and shower???

    Something smells fishy.

Can you post a picture of the bugs you’re talking about?

For the record, I am NOT an expert.
My advice/opinion comes from past experience(s) with bed bugs and what I have read on-line.

Not really... no. I've tried taking pics of em but they're too small to really make em out in the pictures... They just look like little black dots. Some of em are more of a sandy color. They leave tiny translucent eggs everywhere (carpet, clothing, including the clothing I have on while trying to clean this mess up) that are barely big enough to see with the naked eye.

The microwave bugs had some kind of rust colored webbing that was all tangled up in the vents of the back of the microwave. Seen the black specs up in the corners of the bed rooms (usually with some cob webs) and in the light fixtures, and behind power outlet plate covers etc.

Pretty sure there's more than just bed bugs happening here... Bed bugs, carpet beetles, possibly some flavor of roach as well... But yeah, they're everywhere throughout the house.
