I got back from work last night and noticed a dead bug on top of my made bed, on top of my folded up quilt at the foot of the bed. Immediately I googled bed bugs and it does look like it could be similar. However the back of the bug didn't have horizontal lines like I've been seeing on Google images...

I have not had any bug bites. Today I looked at all of my sheets, pillow cases and bedding and did not find any other signs of bed bugs. I looked in creases and seams and near tags like google suggested... nothing. I have a mattress protector, I looked at the box frame and legs of my bed... Nothing. I am currently washing all my bedding in hot hot water as a precaution. Please help me identify if this could be a bed bug! I appreciate any and all help!!

A better picture would help but I don't think that's bedbug related.

Looks like a dead beetle or small spider.

I'm not an expert. Just sharing what I learned from my experience.
