Fecal Stain ID Please

    We are at a vacation rental in North Carolina and saw the following rust colored stains on the inside of a mattress. Are these bed bug fecal stains? They are a rust/brown color. The stains make the part of the mattress affected slightly rough to the touch. I wetted the stains with water and rubbed them; I was not able to get the stains to smudge or smear, however I don't know whether that might be the case with old/dried bb fecal stains. Does this seem like bedbugs?

    Far too orange to be bedbug or blood. If you look at the example images you can see the fine detail is wrong.
