Hi- Just got a book delivered and found this black spot (which smeared black when I wet it- there is black coming off on the paper towel that I wiped it with) next to the binding. I'm hoping that it's too big and black and solid to be fecal (is it ink?), but am looking for confirmation.
    Thanks in advance.

No that is not related to bedbugs.

If you look at the fine detail of the refernce images the differences should become clear.

    Hope that helps.
