My girlfriend and I recently dug out her mattress that had been stored in my basement for 3 months wrapped in a plastic mattress bag that had been taped closed. We noticed a single bug (dead) inside the bag on the side of the mattress, and upon further inspection found a cadre of about 10 bugs (also dead) stuck to the excess tape on the bag.
They didn't quite look like bedbugs based on the images on the web, but we are a bit worried and want to be sure before we put the bed in her new apartment.

No bites had been observed prior to storing the mattress, nor were there any issues with the previous roommate in this regard.

We took a few pictures with a camera phone with the hopes that some people might be able to help. If (as we hope) these are not bedbugs, can anyone give an idea why there might be such a high concentration of bugs either attempting to escape from the mattress, or trying to get into the mattress?

    Here are the photos:

For a size reference, you can see the width of a standard strip of packaging tape (to which they died when they got stuck).

Those are some sort of isopod, sow bugs or wood lice.

    No worries.

Thanks! We thought so, but it's a relief to have it confirmed.
