so it looks like after a year of not having bedbugs (and post-vikane and a new apt to boot), i'm back to the bedbug life as i woke up with 3 bites today and blood stains on my sheets. after hysterically crying from thinking of the financial and emotional ruin i will most likely be left in again, i've been trying to communicate with my building's management office today about getting someone in here to inspect. they told me they will send out someone "eventually" from Corbett Exterminating. i asked them if i can request a company or possibly get a beagle in here to sniff them out (my mattress and boxspring are still encased, so they must be hiding someplace more clever), but my building is apparently under contract with Corbett and they will be my only option. i could only find one review online of Corbett and it was rather scathing. have any of you out there used them before? were they thorough/did they eradicate your problem? thank you in advance for any response.

I'm so sorry you have to experience this horror again, BLBL...I'm SO very sorry. I wish I could give you the information you're seeking, but I don't know this company. (I'm sure you already have done this, but did you try putting their name in the "search" box, above? I've found specific PCOS/expert info that way, maybe it will help you.) Anyway, I'm only writing to wish you the very best of luck in this terrible situation. I, too, have experienced re-infestation, and I completely understand some of what you're experiencing, especially the "hysterical crying". Please let us know what happens.

If you type « Corbett » into Google Advanced Search and limit the domain of the search to bedbugger.com, the only thread which comes up is this one. So it's definite no one has previously discussed this company on bedbugger.com.

mam, thanks for your sympathy and encouragement. this website can be very comforting just knowing there are others out there going through the same thing, especially since no one else that i know has ever had to deal with these dreadful bugs..let alone a second time. i've been trying to stay calm today. i of course had to get some crying out of the way (and there will probably be some more of that to come), but i at least have more knowledge of what i'm dealing with and more resources this time around. i wish you luck with your battle too

i've searched the internet quite a bit and have found next to nothing about corbett. corbett still hasn't responded to my building management so i made a phone call to the killerqueen today to come inspect this weekend. even though i'll be paying for this out of pocket, i'm excited to have someone evaluate my situation who actually knows what they're doing. i've dealt with so many alleged pcos in the past who knew less about bedbugs than i do...

but thanks for your responses regardless! i'm keeping my fingers crossed that i can post some good news at a later juncture.

BLBL, that is excellent news that you're getting a visit from KQ. It sucks that you're going to have to pay for it out of pocket, but I think it will be money very well spent! I don't remember where I read it, but somewhere on here David Cain posted that, in his opinion, the treatment of these hideous beasts will become a specialist job. I can only pray that is the case. These things do not lend themselves to just douse the residence with chemicals and hope for the best. A PCO has to understand their peculiarities, and that takes experience. That's something KQ has a ton of. I'm also keeping all appendages crossed for you...please update us after the inspection.
