I found the bug in the pictures below on my bed. It looks like the (possible latriidae fungus) beetles I had caught in the Beacon on a similarly damp day (identified on another thread), but I'm just looking for confirmation because of where I found it. It was, however, right where my socks had been, so it could have come from another room that way.

Is this just a beetle? Or should I be worried?

    Thank you!

I'm hoping those pictures were just a little blurry. The below link should have clearer pictures. Thanks!

    Hi,

The correct ID is beetle and 100% not bedbug.

    Hope that helps.

No it’s a beetle, might be worth saying sorry for the stress you caused for a few hours and being mindful enough not to do that again.

In this case the clear segmentation of the body into head, thorax and abdomen excludes bedbugs as the thorax section is not distinguishable by most people.

Thank you again, David - what you do on this board is so helpful. I'm getting better at identifying based on the pictures, but that expert confirmation helps a lot.

And thank you, Iwantmylifeback. That first set of pictures was blurry, and your post did make me realize I needed better images.
