Hi there, saw this bug scurrying across my bathroom floor. I squished it while it was climbing up the side of my tub. Hoping it’s not too smashed for an ID! At first glance, looked like a roach but the segmented body always gives me pause.

Any ID help would be so appreciated!

It is a cockroach. Very distinctive.

    Thanks for the response, Lou!

Is this the same kind of roach? Found it this morning crawling up a hallway wall.

I’ve been finding one roach per week for the past six weeks in various rooms in my apartment (multi unit building)—bathroom, kitchen, hallway adjacent to kitchen. Have seen them at night and broad daylight. Am wondering if this is signs of an infestation.

Have no idea if I’ve seen the *same* species of roach each time, but if this most recent one is the same as what I originally posted, my guess is they’re the same!

Anyway, know this isn’t bb related so hope I’m not breaking forum rules! Would appreciate any input from the experts here.

    Thanks I’m advance!

Looks like maybe brown banded roach I'm in Aus so different roach names around. How about you put some roach bates out that's what I've done here and don't leave dirty dishes or full trash bins inside to long. Bates I think would be a good starting point if lots start showing up dead then maybe contact a pest controller.

I'll take roach over bb any day I know they are dirty but hey they don't eat us in our sleep. Good luck.
