So, I've been racking my brain to try and figure out what's happening. About three weeks ago, I noticed a bug that was white and slender with brown stripes crawling on my mattress. I lifted the mattress and saw a few of the same bugs on the bed frame. I immediately panicked and threw out my mattress. I researched relentlessly about bed bugs, but these bugs looked nothing like them. I found a few of them hiding in the carpet and gave a few samples to my landlord and his exterminator labeled them as carpet beetles, and I googled them as well and the pictures looked exactly like what I found. That being said, I have found some stains on my pillowcase. I don't know if they are blood, I am prone to dropping food while eating. I'm uploading pictures of them now. I checked my room for fecal stains, I saw none. I have no bites, my roommates don't either. With the evidence, does it sound like bed bugs or just an issue with carpet beetles (Are they really that likely to be in the bed?)?

    Hi,

It is an oxidised blood stain with some indication of lymph or interstitial fluid.

As such it is not indicative of bedbugs.

If you search for "blood spots on sheets primer" you will see the visual ID cards.

    Hope that helps.
