    Hello everyone,

I've been a big fan if this site for a long time.

As I was preparing for bed last night I found blood stains on my pillow which I am assuming are from the night before. I just took a picture of them:

For background, My wife and I have no bites (I know I could not be allergic), a general inspection showed nothing, I have a mattress cover, and no signs of bugs or black spots, no travel last few weeks. What do you all think? I think I may rig up some DIY passive traps tonight to see.

Also for fun but unrelated I have found these guys around my place, I think I have identified them but curious as to to your thoughts:

I have had one private message that said it doesn't look like bed bugs and not to worry, agreed?

Looks like a silvanid beetle from outdoors.

    Thanks!

That's difficult. If you're worried just use different monitors and traps.

Ok I'll probably just start with some DIY monitors on the bed legs

Update for anyone interested... I set up 2 DIY climb up interceptors and for the last 2 nights have had no sign of anything. We spent the day outdoors. I caught a mosquito biting me so that'll make any potential bites irrelevant.

As of now, with only red blood on pillow, no sign of bugs through inspection or on climb up interceptors and no bites I am just going to cautiously hope it's a false alarm. Will keep interceptors up for awhile and keep the area around the bed clean.

Will keep everyone updated... sometimes we need good news here!
