    They're out of focus, but not bed bugs. Could be a small beetle or true bug. Are you able to take better pictures?

    Thanks very much for trying. The insect is almost at the point of the limit of the camera/phone. It's also in plastic. It's obvious that it's not a bed bug, but still not sure of its real identity. You could freeze it and take it out of the bag for a better picture if you're up for it. Dorsal & ventral views?

    Thanks! Knowing it's not a bedbug is good enough for me. We've been suspicious since returning from traveling, so we just wanted to be sure.
