I have a bunch of bugs in my bed that are not flat like bedbugs. They stand tall and have humped backs like fleas, but they do not jump, and their hind legs are not so long.

When I taped one to an index card, while it was struggling it extended an underwing from under the carapace, that sort of thing you see ladybugs stick out if they are turned upside down.

The back is mottled, mostly brown, but with yellow spots, and two black spots in the middle.

    Any guesses?

It sounds like a carpet beetle (Anthrenus sp.)

Tried photos, but couldn't get a high enough resolution pic of the little buggers.

But it seems almost certain that they are carpet beetles, after googling those a bit. Thank you EffeCi!
