My mother recently stayed at my home and states she had is convinced we have bed bugs. She had something crawl on her at night and squished it to see dark liquid come out (blood?). She also took a picture of an object she thinks is a dead one that was in the eggshell mattress pad on the bed. I have only had issues with fleas the entire time we've lived in our home. We have a dog and do regularly treat him, but fleas seem to be rampant in our wet/warm area. I have scoured the bed, sheets, lining around the edge of the bed, and the mattress topper without finding much. The one thing she had taken a picture of and was concerned with I actually cracked open and it looks like a seed of some sort to me. The object was completely smooth on the outside with no signs of body segments. My mother has had previous run in with bed bugs and before I dish out $500+ to have somebody treat my house I would like to confirm her (our) fears.

Please let me know if any of these seems like bed bugs. I have not seen or felt any other signs of them. However, it is the holidays and if we do have them I need to get on it immediately!!

From what I can see in the pictures, don't see bed bugs. Too bad you didn't get a bit closer on some, just so more definite type of ID could be reached on whatever all objects are.

I'm no expert but I would say to at least have a professional come look. I had some black marks on my mattress, I wasn't something I could physically remove though. It looked like someone dabbed my mattess with permanent marker for a minute or two. The exterminator confirmed it was fecal matter stains which I already knew it was.
