    Not sure if this is a bed bug...probably more paranoid than usual because my parents have them right now. Found in living room near son's play mat. Seems to be red brown with black spots

    Too bad the insect is in plastic bag. At least the picture looks that way. I think it looks like a beetle, maybe a cigarette beetle. It's in pieces. Maybe you can take it out of the bag and take a picture.

    Here he is on his back...there is a nail in the ground for size reference. My husband came home, took a look at the bag said no way that's a ladybug and threw it out so I can't grab a picture of the front. Had a split down the middle though which husband said was the wings.

    Either way, likely not a bed bug or should I still be worried?
