Hi all, have had the Bed Bug Beacon in our unoccupied room for 3 nights now. This morning my husband checked it. He didn't report any bugs, but noted a couple of black specks and a black streak inside the beacon. I'm assuming this is normal with the biological reactions happening inside it? Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Can you provide a picture of these marks?

Thanks David. I'll grab a picture when I get home later this evening.

Once trapped inside, the bed bugs cannot escape, correct?

    Hi,

If you have set it up correctly and used the oil in the bottom they can’t escape.

The oil also makes it easier to see any nymphs that get trapped as there is a meniscus that forms around them.

Thanks David. I have a link below of the streak. We checked it tonight again. There was a small bug in there but was not a bed bug, looked more like a beetle.

    Hi,

That is not consistent with anything bedbug related.
