I found a cast skin in my bed, but it was dark brown, with a tan ring around the end, where the hole was. It was not translucent, so must not be from a bed bug. But it had a perfect hole in the end, so must be from some type of bug. Does anyone know of a good web site that shows cast bug skins? It would sure help with identifying the bug.

Sounds more like a pupa of a fly (Diptera)

There are thousands and thousands of insect species. The shortest way to identify your specimen is to take a pic and post it here...
