Hello all,

I was exposed to bedbugs at a hotel yesterday. I found a live one in the morning and two bites (side-by-side, so I’m assuming one bug) appeared that day. No new bites have appeared since. It seems like there might have been a low level of infestation, given I was only bitten once, but of course I’m petrified about bringing then home. I moved to a new hotel immediately and put my suitcase in a garbage bag. I fly home tomorrow and plan on quaranteening everything and taking washables to the laundromat, etc.

I suppose my question is, if it was a low-level infestation, should I take the precaution of getting rid of my suitcase here and bagging everything and putting it in a new one? Also, any tips on how to wrap the suitcase for the flight?

The only way to get rid of them is chemical/heat treatment from a pest control provider. Please don’t waste time, money and sanity, waiting and trying to do it yourself!!! I tried for YEARS and almost had a nervous breakdown…I threw away and burned so much furniture. I spent so many days/nights vacuuming cleaning, spraying alcohol, washing everything I owned in hot water and drying for hours, dusting with DE. Only to find those bloodsuckers using me and my family as meals. So finally I saved up my money and had a heat treatment done followed by two chemical follow ups. I’m finally FREE!!! It’s been 6 months I still check all the time and look up into corners paranoid but it’s getting less and less often.

Good luck,
Bed bug survivor

Please help…my sanity depends on it! Almost 3 weeks ago, I found a bed bug under my pillow in middle of the night. I tried to convince myself for awhile that it was just me being paranoid! Then a little over a week ago, I woke up and smashed something on my arm…blood smeared. I knew it was a bed bug again! The next night, I found another live bed bug in my sheets! I contacted a bed bug company who does heat treatments…but I still have to wait a few more days!

I’ve made my bed an island and put the Climbup interceptors as well as mattress and bedspring encasements in bed. I’ve seen no evidenceof these pests except the live bugs. Last night I woke up at 3:30am…and saw a bed bug on my wall crawling up. Yet today I have a tiny bite under my eye…and a few on my arms. Are they still somewhere on bed? Has anyone had successful heat treatments done? I am going insane with this!
