Gelf, an online magazine, is to host an event featuring Lou Sorkin, who will speak about bed bugs, on May 20th in Brooklyn’s DUMBO neighborhood.

According to Gelf,

On Thursday, May 20th, we’ll be hosting our grossest Geeking Out yet in DUMBO. The night will feature Gene Kaplan, author of the parasite-riddled new book, What’s Eating You? and Louis Sorkin, a bedbug expert at the American Museum of Natural History. Admission is FREE. Drinks both alcoholic and otherwise will be available. Please spread the word and bring your friends.

Geeking Out will be held Thursday, May 20th, at 7:30 pm doors open at 7:00 pm at the JLA Studios art gallery on 63 Pearl St [view in Google Maps] in the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn. Admission is FREE. Drinks will be available. Please spread the word and bring your friends.

Dr. Louis Sorkin is a fascinating source of bed bug information, and a great friend to bedbuggers everywhere. I would recommend that anyone wishing to learn more about bed bugs should consider attending this free event.

Gene Kaplan’s book does not appear to have much in the way of bed bug content, though the Table of Contents provided by Amazon — go here and click “search inside this book” to view it — is intriguing, if at times too gross to reproduce here.
