I'm being bit. I don't know if it's BB or other. So a PCO says just spray some RAID around (the kind for flying insects). If it IS Bed Bugs, won't that just spread em?

What will NOT do any harm? RAID? Some kind of Flea spray that's not a fog (because I think a fog will spread em)

why on earth would a PCO say to spray Raid? I think you need to find someone else. And have someone inspect and confirm what you have before you treat. Otherwise you can make your problem worse.

I think the theory is if it's not BB, then the problem is solved.

I think you could be right about the "find someone else".

But the real question is, will it be a big mistake if it is BB?

    Bit,

Not only will your apartment stink of Raid for days on end but yes, it is not a good idea. Using the wrong product will have them looking for a new place to hide spreading them to other areas in your apartment and yes possibly the neighbors too Call another PCO and don't try to treat yourself.

A spray not labeled for BB might not work and might spread them in ways you don't want. Few of us are expert enough to say what will definitely happen in your case. If you suspect BB and need to spray, get an insecticide that's registered with the EPA and labeled for BB and use it exactly as directed. Better yet. Read our FAQ. Then read this guide, which includes tips on inspection and detection and can help you determine what your problem is.
