Why just the legs? How many bites per bedbug per night?
(4 posts)-
I think I have picked up bedbugs from a motel about two weeks ago. I seem to get a couple of bites every few days. I have two questions: 1) why are they just biting my legs? My arms are more exposed at night and my legs are under the covers and in pajamas. Is there some reason why they go for the legs? 2) How many bites can one bedbug inflict at a time? For instance, today I have two new bites...one on my shin and one on my thigh. Would a typical bedbug be full after one bite? If I woke up with 20 bites, how many bedbugs would that translate into in one night...5, 10, 20?
Thanks!

Those are good questions and I am looking forward to the answers myself! I wanted to add that as of late they have been going for my legs too, which I guess it better than my face that happened once and it looked like I had a black eye!!
Anyway I started wearing big thick men's socks pulled up with my PJ's tucked into them to bed as I am getting so many bites on just my legs I didn't think they could stand much more. So, now I have bites on my hand but no new ones on my legs.

I just got bit yesterday on my ankle and my thigh. Two bites in total. I'm guessing that it means its one tiny bed bug.

I'm no expert, but I believe one bug usually bites more than once, but in a narrow space. For example, you might 3 or four bites in a row near the elbow. Spaced far apart (like ankle and thigh), I would think it would be different bugs. Look very closely and you might find one or two smaller pin pricks nearby the one you see.
