Why am I getting bites after being cleared by a bed bug dog?
(1 post)-
So last Friday, I went to work only to discover an enormous bite on my leg. My apartment had bed bugs two times before, a year ago, so I knew the signs. I had a dog come to my apartment and confirmed their presence. I decided to move out. I developed a moving plan, and was told by a trusted exterminator that it was solid. But Before finding a new apartment, I moved to my dads house. When I arrived at about 11pm Sunday night, i took every conceivable precaution to make sure I didn't bring them to his place.
On Monday, I went to my old house and spent the day packing all my clothes up. They were picked up from my house by a company that professionally treats belongings with bed bugs. Everything else I decided to throw out. I had to keep some jewelry and expensive vases and tons. I boiled those items on the stove and bagged them.
Before I got back to my dads, I again took every precaution to avoid spreading them there. I was still nervous. So yesterday I has a bed bug dog come and check his apartment and all of my belongings here, and was given the all clear.
Last night, about 8 hours after the dog came, I got panicky and started scratching my legs. A bug bite formed on my knee, and today has grown to the size that bed bug bites usually grow.
What do you guys think? Delayed bite reaction from the 9 hours I spent tearing my room apart in the infested apartment or am I totally screwed? I did not go back to my old place at all after the dog came.
