I am paranoid I may have brought these bugs in my car. I have been dealing with the problem at my parents house since June and as of yet have never been bitten in my car. I wasn't living at home when the problem started but all my stuff was still in my bedroom. I know I'm making myself crazy but I just need to know if they are in there and if it can be considered a clean place. Any suggestions on favorite hiding spots? Can a PCO come out just to inspect a car or is that overkill?

I've read on various sites that if your car is in the sun on a hot day and not loaded with stuff or junk where the BBs could hide, that it actually is a good way to kill them because the heat in the car from the sun on a hot day can get really high. Since reading that, I don't use the garage anymore. I'd rather kill them or at least take a shot at killing them that way.

I know for sure that my car was an oven on 80 degree days as I keep a spare mini deodorant in the glove box and when I took it out it had melted to a thick liquid. I'd say it would have to have been pretty hot. Plus I almost passed out from the heat. So this might be one option if where you are has hot days. I'd just recommend tossing some of whatever is in it so that the BBs don't have any cooler places to hide between. But the vehicle itself on a hot day can be a nice little oven.

thanks, I actually don't keep anything in my car except some stuff in the glove box so I guess the rest of the interior should be okay. I think I might invest in a small thermometer for the inside of the car to see how hot it actually gets. I live in NJ so some days are hot and some are cool and I can be sure if it's hot enough inside.

This has been discussed ad naseum on these forums, every single bit of your car is not going to get hot enough. There are plenty of cracks for them to escape into as the car slowly heats up.

I know , that's why I was worried. Does anyone know if a PCO will come and inspect just a car?

My car just had thermal treatment today. Maybe you can find a company that does thermal and see if they can do your car. On a darker note, I just found, not 20 minutes ago, a real egg on a roll of paper towels I had brought in from my car. It was exactly as described. sticky, bigger than i thought it would be, semi translucent.
