Got Bed Bugs? Bedbugger Forums » Introductions
where i'm at
(4 posts)-
-discovered two live bugs just over a week ago on mattress in room being prepared for new baby;
-had previously seen one live bug on bathroom floor, then one in toddler's linens within the weeks prior;
-upon further inspection found close to 20 more live bugs over the next few days
-after taking measures to steam floors, mattresses etc live sightings have dropped to almost none
-PCO coming this Friday to assess and have quoted me
-i am currently washing and drying all clothing and linens on hottest setting, then steam ironing (using spray bottle with water and spearmint essential oil drops in it), then bagging
-have ordered DE, interceptors and traps ,and bought TONS of household products supposed to provide relief
-still not sure this isn't some sort of mite, but have a good sample of larger one for PCO
-we live (own) a semi-detached home...UGHJust looking for a fellow buggy friend. I am "lucky" in that i can feel them on me. Being 6 months' pregnant and with a busy toddler on my hands the sheer a mount of work trying to control this is exhausting! I have told visitors to stay away, but naturally this just adds to the mental strain, because I also don't go visiting

Is that icon picture of you? We generally discourage "non-pros" from disclosing personally identifiable information. Your picture is appearing because you registered with an email address that's associated with a "gravatar" (the picture). Please contact the admin ("nobugsonme") to get this fixed.
Welcome. Please review our FAQ for a good background on what BB are and are not and what work is and is not needed. You can post a link to an online picture and we can ID it or rule it out.
Not all PCOs require all the work you are doing and some ask for you to leave things alone. Some of your work is duplicative. Example: Clean fabrics just need a run through a warm dryer (skip the wash) to kill all stages of bed bug. Soiled items should be washed to prevent lock in of stains and odors. (Also, some pros feel that only the items on and immediately near the beds require this treatment, as that's where the bugs are in most cases.) Spraying items before or after laundry is not needed. Spearmint oil is not of value. Bagging damp items can cause mildew.
You will find wisdom, compassion and camaraderie here. Hang in there.

This way one of the experts here will be able to give you an ID. Frankly, you are more likely to get an accurate ID on this forum than you are from some random PCO.
