When bagging, what bags are good to use?
(4 posts)-
I am rather new to the bed bug fight, and am considering bagging my clothes before putting them in the dresser. What sort of bags do you use? Just gallon ziplock bags? Are there any bigger ones that seal? Man these buggers make you downright paranoid! I was watching Fellowship of the Ring last night, and it was at the Rivendell scene, and all I could think was "man think of all the bed bugs that could hide in the architecture there!" Gah!

Buy XL and XXL ziplocs from Home Depot. You can probably order them online, too. They cost $5.97 for a 3, 4, or 5 pack, depending on the size (up to 30 gallons). I recommend putting clothing by category into the smaller bags, just for the ease of finding things. I've been digging through my XXL bags on a daily basis looking for undies, socks, etc. and it's a hassle.

yes the XL and XXL ziploc bags are good for clothing that you want to wear on a regular basis.
but ziplocs are expensive, so for other things that i'm not going to be re-opening as often, i've also bought large heavy-duty clear garbage bags... so i can still see what's in them if i need it, but i just tie them up tight and leave them in a corner.

I did get a couple boxes of the XL ziplock bags, and I do feel safer with my clothes stored in them!
