I moved into bachelor suite in March 09. Immediately found out there were cockroaches. Two weeks later found there were bed bugs. Treated with chemical/residuals 3 times, then with thermal fogging/heat treatment twice. Found out after 2 chemical treatments was being re-infested from adjoining apartment. Treated again and also adjoining apartment. Still getting bitten. After thermal fogging/heat treatment, still got bit but much less so. Also 3 others suites were treated with thermal fogging/heat treatment, 2 of them twice.

I was bit 2 1/2 weeks ago (4 times), can't find any other evidence, but then I can't see anything small (vision disability), and need a magnifying glass to look at past bed bugs to recognize them. I am moving to a new apartment, have taken all precautions, and been doing it slowly and methodically since Monday. I have 2 other disabilities and cannot work quickly or for long. I am not taking any of my furniture, except a metal shelving unit, a plastic shelving unit, 2 metal chairs, my clothes, and kitchen ware, my TV and desk top computer.

All units in this building were inspected last Friday, even though some of the units had only been thermal fogged a week previous. The guy came in, looked behind my sofa bed (all of 2 seconds), asked if I had any bites, informed him about 4 bites, and about small blood stain on my very white sheet (asked if he wanted to look at it, he declined). I had him look on the underside of my sofa bed, he said he say no indication of bed bugs, etc. He did say that he had found a shedding in apartment down the hall; the guy in this suite does not react. And this guy has said in the past that the bugs he has seen on the floor are just wood bugs.

Yesterday a notice went up that our building has been declared bed bug free, even though just 2 weeks ago, 2 residents (one across down from me) had about 100 bites on each arm (never mind how many elsewhere), and upstairs tenant had the same. After 1 treatment each, supposedly, all bed bugs are gone. Is that possible?

A new tenant is moving into my suite in a week, all because the LL says the bed bugs are gone. It would be nice to know that there are no bed bugs, for my peace of mind. I will still be taking all precautions in my new place, and will wait the 55 days and keep all my belongings still wrapped in ziplocks and other precautions. The only new addition will be a air mattress covered in a proper encasement, and a metal futon (futon also encased) sofa.

I am still worried about my TV and computer, should I be concerned? What precautions should I take about them? I am getting a packtite, but won't arrive for another 2 weeks.
