Back in the beginning of August, on the second night home from the hospital with my newborn baby girl, we found out we had bedbugs :'( . They were EVERYWHERE, mattress, boxspring, and bed frame! I couldn't believe there were so many and we had no idea! Upon realizing my slumlord wasn't going to handle this properly, we opted to move..I disgarded 95% of everything we owned (thousands and thousands of dollars worth of stuff, including a bean new sectional, and a wallunit that was still in the box! I was freaked out by what I read online and didnt want to take any chances! I washed all of our clothes/fabrics in hot water and dried on hot for 60min, and then dried an additional 60 when already dried. They all went directly into big zip Loc bags and put into a newly obtained storage unit. The very few other stuff we kept I brought to a chamber and had Vikane gassed, and then brought to the storage unit (using new transportaion method). I had quite a few plastic storage draws however that were left out of the chamber. I had a pco come in our apartment before we left, and he sprayed those for me as well. Then I brought them to my dads and left them outside in his backyard for a month. They faced a few hot summer days, and the tropical storm Irene. Then my stepmom powerwashed them for me and I put them into the storage unit. We are now moving into a townhouse in january, and planning of taking everything out of storage and bringing with us. Now IM getting all paranoid again.. Do you think that was enough treatment for the draws or do you think some might have been able to survive if there were any in them to begin with? IM scared I might have now contaminated everything in the unit! What do you you think? Possible, or am I overreacting :'(.

I am confused, why did you NOT vikane gas EVERYTHING that you were/are concerned about when you had your very few other stuff we kept treated in the chamber you went to? That would have given you a 100% effective BB Kill for ALL of your items without requiring additional spraying/treatment by the PCO and without extended storage...Just a question.

EVERYTHING was intended to be put in the chamber, however my husband got called into work unexpectedly (military) as we were packing, and I was left bringing everything to the chamber myself, with 3 kids (a 1 week old, a 1 year old and a 4 year old), so as you might imagine with all the chaos they got left out :-|. I plan on doing another vikane treatment prior to moving for the things that we have at our currrent location. I will just put the items on storage back in also to be on the safe side!

Ps. The Pco came and sprayed the house and the draws prior to everything being taken to the chamber. I called the pco hysterically crying within the first5 minutes if discovering the Bb. Tukey came workin an hour and confirmed, told me how to prepare for treatment and came back and sprayed 2 days later.. Just a haisty decision on my part, I should have let my landlord desl with it!
