What did I just find? (lint BB?) & possible cast skin?
(3 posts)-
To cut down on a long story, I had some tape stuck to the side of my foam mattress and pulled it off to find something that looked exactly like a BB. short fat body with a little head sticking off it. I even saw little antenna.
But when I zoomed in with my camera, it looked like it was just a little ball of threads with a piece of dirt on the end. It still is suspicious, but I can't imagine that this is a BB
The other question I have is about the spot next to the thread thing/BB. It looks like it could be fecal but I swiped it with a q-tip and it came right off, not leaving any kind of mark. Needless to say I am confused. When I first glanced at this I damn near had a heart attack because it looked so much like a bedbug, but now I am not sure.
(Sorry about the lack of a coin in the picture, but the second one shows a bit of a grocery receipt, which should give you some idea of the size of this thing.)
Ninja Edit/Addition:
I was exploring the area further and came across these two things, which I believe to be cast skins of something, unclear whether they are bedbugs or not.

Hi,
Its lint not bedbug related.
People often find these things due to a heightened state of awareness, about 50% of the samples sent to me for ID are not bedbugs and the majority are lint balls.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the feedback Mr. Cain. I was pretty sure it wasn't a BB, more amused that I freaked out so much when I first saw it. Paranoia, though necessitated that I ask someone, especially after I found whatever those red-ish things are in the third picture.
It has been really hard for me to shake this, as most people can see from my posting history. My latest obsession has been that my parents re-infested me three weeks ago when they visited (I may have exposed them before my initial infestation was discovered, though they insist that they do not have the bugs). I have no evidence, beyond the fact that my head is sensitive (not itchy, it's like I can feel my hair constantly). That was something I noticed my first go round as well, so now I don't know if it is a sign or just a coincidence. It is probably just because the air is drying out with winter approaching, but as you can see I am not convinced.
Anyway, if my parents do have them they should see them soon (it has been three months), and then I will know. Until then, the search/vigilance continues.
